Thanks to a deal that was struck between Sony Pictures and Netflix back in 2021, the popular streaming service gets the first streaming window for all the studio's films after their theatrical and PVOD windows end. Across the Spider-Verse will be joining other recent Sony films on the service including No Hard Feelings, 65, and The Pope's Exorcist. Other Spider-Man titles that are available to stream on Netflix include Sam Raimi's trilogy and Marc Webb's two Amazing Spider-Man films. However, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is currently unavailable to stream on the service, so fans will have to look elsewhere to seek out the first film.

The Spider-Man franchise is in a pretty interesting place regarding streaming. The various films of Sony's franchise have typically been scattered across multiple services. That said, following a historic deal between Sony and Disney, the many stories of Peter Parker and beyond are now available on Disney+. When Did 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' Come Out?

The main trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse shows off the return of that glorious industry-changing art style, which once again looks like it came straight out of a comic book. We see Miles still figuring out his work-life balance, having to attend school meetings with his parents while dealing with wacky new enemies like The Spot (Jason Schwartzman). Thankfully, Miles gets some R&R when Spider-Gwen unexpectedly visits him. After taking some time to catch up, Gwen reveals to Miles that she has joined a society that consists of Spider-People from all walks of the multiverse, including Spider-Woman (Issa Rae), Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya), and so many more.

Realizing he could meet even more people like him, Miles quickly takes Gwen up on her offer to see this society for himself. Though he does get to see his old mentor in Peter B. Parker (now the dad of an adorable baby girl), Miles's membership in the organization is rejected by Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O'Hara, who proves to be a fierce and even dangerous rival for Miles in his new adventure. Miguel cites his reasoning for rejecting Miles all boils down to his desire to keep the multiverse at peace, even going as far as to reference the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home as an example of what he hopes to avoid.

When Will 'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' Come Out?

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was previously set to release on Friday, March 29, 2024, however, due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the film has been delayed indefinitely and a new release date for the film has not yet been revealed. There's a good chance that we won't see the new Spider-Verse movie until late 2024 at the very earliest. However, a release date for Summer 2025 seems much more likely. Much like the previous two Spider-Verse movies, Beyond the Spider-Verse will enjoy an exclusive theatrical release and will be made available on streaming at a later date.
